Network Statistics
What is Difficulty?
Difficulty is a measure of how difficult it is for the miners to solve a block. The higher the difficulty, the harder it is to find a block. Difficulty is measured using SI (Metric International System of Units) prefixes, you can learn more in the following chart:
| Unit | Definition |
|---|---|
| k | 1000 |
| M | 1000 k |
| G | 1000 M |
| T | 1000 G |
| P | 1000 T |
| E | 1000 P |
What is Block Time?
Block time refers to the average time it takes for the entire network to mine a new block.
What is Hashrate?
Hashrate is a measure of the computational power the network is processing per second. It is calculated using difficulty/blocktime. Hashrate is measured using SI prefixes as well.
